SameWords is a dynamic library (DLL) making it possible to obtain a rate of resemblance between two texts. SameWords can be used in the majority of the products of programming (Visual Studio NET, Visual Studio, Pack Office...).
SameWords proves to be a very invaluable ally to avoid and/or control the doubled records in your data bases. It can be also useful in a research starting from phonetic information (for example: a customer telephones but does not give the orthography of its name. By seizing it "as that decides" the operator can find it easily). Well on SameWords can be used in good of many other cases...
Function:
- InitSW
This function makes it possible to initialize the whole of the DLL SameWords. However its call remains optional in the programming because the DLL SameWords car-is initialized. This function do not await arguments.
- Compare (StringA, StringB, EvaluationMethod)
This function makes it possible to compare two character strings and to give of them the rate (%) of resemblance. The advantage of SameWords is the integration of a phonetic engine.
Example :
- "marshal" and "martial" resemble themselves 100%, with other methods of comparison approximately 66%.
Arguments
StringA, StringB : character string type. Do not have to exceed 70 characters. They contain the 2 texts to be compared.
MethodeEvaluation: numerical type defines the way of evaluating the comparison.
0 - Optimistic method - the best score Gives (activated by defect)
1 - Pessimistic Method - Gives the worst score obtained in the comparison,
2 - Average Method - Gives the average of the methods of comparison
The function compares reference a number (of type doubles) corresponding to the rate of resemblance. If value -1 is turned over to check that the chaineA and chaineB are correctly initialized
Unlockme(TheKey)
This function makes it possible to free SameWords. It must be only called one time with each authority of SameWords.
